I'm not really sure how it's Friday already (this week has been crazy!) but I am SO glad it is because I am ready for the weekend.... and it also means that we're SO CLOSE to our kitchen being ripped out because it's now being ripped out NEXT WEEK! 😳
Soooo, our weekend will see us packing our kitchen and moving everything upstairs for a while!
But first, let me catch you up on our week! >>
Recently Loving: This super cute sketch my incredibly talented friend Tracey did of Jesse and I!
Recently Eating: The last of our Hello Fresh meals... for now! This Upside Down Beef Cottage Pie was SO GOOD!
You can still get $50 off your box with this code and I put together a post with How We Made Hello Fresh Gluten Free!
We've ordered two boxes for the end of the month so whilst we're cooking dinner upstairs (with our fridge downstairs) we can just take each bag up and not have to worry!
Here's what we ordered:
- 15th March
- American Style Chicken with Rainbow Slaw, Corn Cobs and Wedges (swapping the seasoning)
- Smokey Portuguese Chicken with Garlic Herb Potatoes (swapping the seasoning)
- Chicken and Creamy Peppercorn Sauce (no swaps needed!)
- Cheesy Pesto Hassleback Chicken with Garlic Herb Potatoes (swapping the slivered almonds)
- Lentil Shepherd's Pie (no swaps needed!)
- 22nd March
- Easy Bacon, Mushroom and Sour Cream Jacket Potatoes (no swaps needed)
- Creamy Chicken and Chive Sauce (no swaps needed - we also had this last week and it was delicious!)
- Seared Steak and Roast Veggie Toss (no swaps needed!)
- Baked Pumpkin Risotto (swapping the pine nuts)
- Mexican Chicken and Charred Corn Salad (swapping the seasoning)
Recently Excited: To say goodbye to this blah kitchen and disgusting floor tiles.
The kitchen is being ripped out next week so Jesse and I can remove the tiles... ourselves. Are we crazy? Possibly.
Did I buy myself workboots for the task? Yes, yes I did.
Recently Frustrated: By these IRRITATING weeds. I have dug them out so many times only for them to pop up a few days later. On some parts of the garden I almost have them completely under control but it feels like I'm fighting a losing battle. SO frustrating.
Recently Loving: This sweet Corgi puppy! HOW CUTE IS HE?!?!
We so desperately want a puppy... but also so desperately don't want to pay the ridiculous prices breeders are wanting for dogs right now 🙄$7000 is waaaay too much for a pup... and it seems we're not the only ones thinking that because a lot of breeders are dropping their prices (but still so $$$) because they're not selling them at the price they want.
Recently Reading: My Daughter's Wedding by Gretel Killeen. Whilst I've kind of dragged my way through it (hey, reading slump!) it's been quite good!
Recently Discovering: NOMO's Allergy Friendly Easter Eggs!
Considering they're gluten free, dairy free, vegan and nut free, they are SOOO good! They're available at Woolworths and Big W and YOU NEED to try the Caramel & Sea Salt Chocolate Egg. SOOO good.
I kind of need 5,000 more 😂
Recently Watching: Billie Eilish's The World's a Little Blurry documentary. SO good. I have so much respect for Billie and her crazy talent and this documentary was so well done. Also, her Mom seems like the sweetest human and I think she deserves an award too!
Recently Trying: To work out what to do with all of my wood flooring samples... and then listing them on Facebook marketplace for free only to have 70 (??!!!?!??!) people message me about them.
I have no idea what they were all planning on doing with them but jeeeez!
Recently Posting: This DEEELICIOUS Curried Quinoa Side Dish Recipe with Chickpeas. I've been loving it for lunch because it's packed full of flavour and nutrients!
