Recent Things: What Day Is It?

Hello there, friend! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 

I totally forgot about last week's Recent Things post because I didn't realise it was Friday until it was Sunday, when I had two emails sitting in my inbox asking me why I hadn't posted anything on the blog for a week 😛 

But that's what the week between Christmas and the New Year is like right? Our was filled with time spent with friends, delicious food, family, gifts and so much more.

So let me fill you in on what's been happening lately!

Recent Dramas: This pup gave us a bit of a scare the other day when she came inside bleeding everywhere! One second she was playing fetch, the next she was bleeding all over the lounge - but it turns out it was just a slightly broken toenail.

She had her foot in a bandage for a few days but got it taken off yesterday and is good to go! At one point they were saying she may need a surgery to strip back the toenail, but luckily we avoided that part!

Recently Playing: Board Games with friends - including a whole bunch of new board games!

In the last week, we've played Dungeon Academy, Cards Against Humanity, Deck Around, Weird Things Humans Search For, Yahtzee, a panda version of Yahtzee (rolling pandas instead of dice), JackBox and so many other games.

Recent Achievements: Staying up past midnight on New Year's Eve 😛 Guys, I am an early riser. I'm usually up at 6am and ready to go, so staying up until midnight is an efffoorrrrttt, but we managed to do it. We went to a party at a friends house, and I'm pretty sure we left by 12:30am. 

Are we adults? Or are we elderly people? No one knows.. 

Recently Making: Our Christmas tees! This year we adapted a design we saw in Disneyland (the back of this Mickey's Tree Farm flannel shirt) and created two super cute Christmas tees that we may just where all year round. Obviously ours are coloured where the original design is just the outline, so they're a bit different - but I think I like the coloured version better.

Sooo, needless to say, we're still obsessed with our Cricut Maker.

Also, the HTV colours we used (because so many people asked on social media when I posted the photos) were all Siser Easyweed in the colours white, yellow, columbia blue, red, green and brown.

Recently Reading: A bunch of books! There were quite a few I didn't like, but lots I really enjoyed.

My best reads recently had to be The Mothers (released Jan 7), Just One Wish and Dear Life: A Doctor's Story of Love and Loss (released later t his month). I'm currently reading 10 Feet Tall and Not Quite Bulletproof and really enjoying that one too! 

Recently Feeling: Lazy, like sweet Miss Chanel! I am fully back to routine next week and kind of looking forward to it. I've been so lazy I haven't even been making our bed and it just feels gross, haha.

Recently Watching: Jumanji: The Next Level. SO good! We went to the movies yesterday to see it and I'm so glad we did because it was such a good movie. Awkwafina is always amazing, but she played such a great part in the movie - and I loved the addition of Danny Devito because he is seriously so much fun.

It was intense and hilarious and I am totally glad it seems like there's a third movie coming...  😉 

Recently Avoiding: Taking down the Christmas decorations (those lights aren't ours so luckily we don't have to take them down too 😛). I loveeeeee all things Christmas so I'm always super bummed when all the Christmas stuff has to be packed away - but today is the day and we've got the boxes out ready for everything to be packed up ☹️ 

Recently Posting: My current lunch obsession! This delicious Spanish Style Frittata Recipe with Potato, Capsicum and Feta that i can't get enough of!
