Hello! Happy Friday! I'll be totally honest and say I didn't really know what day it was until yesterday because this week has been a bit of a topsy turvy one. We had a long weekend for Easter and then a day off for ANZAC Day yesterday and Jesse has had the whole week off - so even the dogs were confused and have been thinking it's been a weekend all week long ๐
But I'm glad for some extra downtime because things have been crazy lately! Somehow my body also decided a bit of extra downtime meant a bit of extra time to get sick so I've been battling a weird flu/sinus infection all week long - hence why I'm starting this post at 5:30am because I napped yesterday mid-fever and my body decided it had had enough of sleeping.
But enough chitter chatter,
Let me catch you up on our week! >>
Recent Adventures: Extra time off also meant extra time for adventures! Earlier this week we decided to take a trip to the Aquarium - which turned into us also visiting Wildlife Sydney Zoo and The Maritime Museum and it was such a fun morning out!
We made friends with Ringo the Wombat who felt so different to what I expected (not at all fluffy - more coarse like a beagle or coarse-haired dog) at Wildlife Sydney Zoo (pro tip - wait after the keeper talk and you'll be able to pet the wombat for a dollar coin donation to the wildlife sanctuary!).
Met Rocky the Crocodile (from a distance) who you really wouldn't want to be your boyfriend, considering he ate two of his previous girlfriends. (You'd think that the crocodile farm he was living at would learn the first time - but they blamed the first female crocodile for being too small for Rocky and gave him another crocodile to woo/eat).
And we plotted how we could take a herd of cute penguins home with us.
And then we headed across the bridge to the Maritime Museum to check out the James Cameron exhibit (which was so cool!). We didn't end up seeing the 3D movie that's included with your ticket as the session was literally 3.5 hours from when we were there (they didn't tell us that part until after we'd bought the ticket), but the exhibit itself was totally worth it.
I'm sure Jesse would happily abandon me to go on deep sea diving expeditions - whereas that's a big fat no for claustrophobic/would rather not die in an underwater grave me.
Recently Playing: Disneyland Adventures! We have pretty much constant Disneyland withdrawals and this game is SO GOOD. It's like walking through the actual park (right down to the placement of garbage cans and drink stands ๐) and it's actually such a fun game!
Whilst I was down and out with a fever yesterday we hooked up Jesse's computer to the TV in our bedroom and played the game for most of the day.
Recently Watching: Shazam! (though we did see it last week - I just didn't post a Recent Things post last week) and loved it! Such a great movie!
We're seeing End Game this weekend and I'm hoping I like it better than the last one. I love funny superhero/anti-hero movies (like Shazam, Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool) but serious super-fighty ones I'm not a big fan of.
When I've said that previously someone called me a "terrible nerd" - but they're probably right. I'm smart and a book nerd, but definitely not a comic book/star wars/pop fiction kinda nerd.
Recently Snuggling: ALLLL THE PUPPIES! ๐ฅฐPoor Chanel has been a bit out of sorts lately because we've had so many people over - but that means extra snuggles!
Recently Reading: SO many great books! I've read and loved The Flat Share (such a cute read!), The Girl He Used to Know and After the Party which I devoured in two sittings because I could not put it down. If you're after a new book, I highly recommend those three!
Recently Posting: The BEST Gluten Free ANZAC Biscuit Recipe. We are totally obsessed with these. SO GOOD!
But tell me,
How has your week been?
What did you do for Easter?
And if you could have a week off, what would you do?
