Haaaapppyyy Friday!
It's a very Happy Friday in the SIL house as it's our last day of work before some much needed time off!
Christmas time is my favourite time of year for so many reasons - but especially so because we get to spend so much time with family and friends.
But before I can get to that, I've got to catch you up on the week that was!
Here's what's been happening in our world this week >>
Recent Surprises: An incredibly generous friend and client surprised me with this beautiful gluten free grazing platter earlier this week. Such a perfect Christmas surprise!
Recent Oops: This tree just fell into my cart at TK Maxx....
But actually, it's not an oops at all because I was OWNING self control that day. I probably picked up about 20 trees, 15 throw rugs, 12 plates and 7 mugs and all I purchased was this tree.
And those things I picked up were even on sale. BOOM!
(But then I totally texted Jesse and said "do you think we can go to TK Maxx after Christmas?" - AKA: I need to buy all the things)
Recently Debating: Whether I'm going to love or hate Will Smith as Genie in the live action Aladdin.
I totally don't know how I feel about it.
Recently Baking: ALLLLLL the Christmas Cookies!
We're having friends over on Christmas Eve and then family on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so my weekend will be spent baking up a storm.
Here's what's on my baking list:
- The pictured Gluten Free Peppermint Bark Cookies Recipe
- This Gluten Free Shortbread Cookies Recipe
- My Low Fat Gluten Free Gingerbread Recipe
- This Healthy Pumpkin Pie Recipe (for my Southern husband who can't celebrate anything without pumpkin pie!)
- This Refined Sugar Free Healthy Chocolate Panforte Recipe
- Our all time fave Kid Friendly Rocky Road Recipe
- A few of these Chocolate Bark Recipes (which make great Christmas gifts!)
- And our fave Gluten Free Snowball Cookies Recipe
Recently Admiring: Our Christmas tree! We finally put it up last week after umming and ahhing over whether to face the horror that is our snow flocked Christmas tree.
As you can probably tell by that photo, the snow flocked Christmas tree was left in the roof, we decided against a real Christmas tree after seeing the bedraggled messes that were available at the shops near us and we bought a green tree on sale for $29 (half price at Big W) because it was so much easier than facing that snowy mess 😜
Recently Smelling: All the Christmas scents, diffusing in my diffuser.
Also, can we appreciate how beautiful the Ellia Refresh Diffuser is?! I have 4 Ellia diffusers (obsessed much?) but this one is totally my current fave.
Recently Reading: A bunch of dud books, to be totally honest. I've been reading through my unread pile and some of the books should have been left unread...
Don't Know What You've Got Till It's Gone, however, was a great read!
Recently Posting: This Gluten Free Peppermint Bark Cookies Recipe... seriously, SO GOOD! If you make just one of my recipes this Christmas, make it this one.
But tell me,
How has your week been?
Do you have time off over the Christmas/New Year period?
And what are your Christmas food plans?!
