Recent Things: A Very Shocking Week

Hey! HAAAAAPPPPYYY FRIDAY!

Is anyone else so glad it's the weekend? I certainly am - and I'm extra excited because in just two weeks, Jesse and I will be sitting at the airport waiting for our flight to the US! Squeeee!

I am basically bursting with excitement.

But before I can get to that, I've got to catch you up on our week. It's been a great week - but also a bit of a scary drama filled week..
Here's what's been happening in our world this week! >>

Recently Celebrating: My birthday!!! Not really celebrating because I don't like making a fuss over my own birthday - but we did have cake!

And yes, that photo is of me. The colour was weirdly washed out but yet, I did have blonde hair until I was about 6 and then it just kept getting browner as the years went on.

Recently Reading: Suicide Club by Rachel Heng (US link / AU link). This book totally hooked me in. I didn't love love the characters, but the storyline was so intriguing I couldn't put it down.

Recently Loving: The almost Spring like weather we've been having lately. The days are warm, the mornings light, the flowers are blooming ANDDDDD the magpies have started to swoop already (that i'm not happy about - and for non-Australian residents, magpies are birds which are INCREDIBLY territorial and have a habit of swooping anyone that comes within 100 metres of their precious nests).

Birthday Cake Loving - The Best Gluten Free Cakes in Sydney

Recently Eating: ALLLL the birthday cake. Cake tastes better when you don't have to make it and so this year I had The Cheesecake Shop's Gluten Free Chocolate Mud Cake (which is made in a dedicated gluten free facility and comes fully wrapped) which my parents bought for me as a gift and wrapped it up in Ariel paper, haha.

It is seriously SOOOOOO good. Mum and Dad got one piece and Jesse and I polished off the rest.

Recently Wanting: To wrap Jesse in cotton wool/bubble wrap/all the protective measures.

The other day he came home from work early and as soon as I saw him I knew something was wrong. That something? Um, 240 volts of power that went from his left hand all the way across his chest and out his right hand.

Not good.

But it's all okay. He's had a check up at the doctor and an ECG and he is very lucky and completely fine.

Recent Puppy Love: This cheeky puppy has been extra snuggly this week and I have been LOVING it. Chanel is seriously the sweetest puppy.

Recently Laughing: At this photo of Bear Grylls after he was stung by a bee.

I saw it and thought "Oh my gosh! What happened to Benedict Cumberbatch?!?!!!" and then saw that it said Bear Grylls and thought "Why the heck does he look like Benedict Cumberbatch?!".

This is now going into the folder of photos to look at when I need a laugh :P

Recently Playing With: Essential oils. Basically filling roller bottles to travel with!

Here are my favourite oils when travelling;
  • Sleep Blend (for sleep... duh.. I just roll it on the soles of my feet, temples and hands and breathe it in)
  • Peppermint (for headaches I roll it on my temples and back of neck and when I need a bit of an energy boost/refresh. I'll also roll peppermint oil on my stomach if I have an upset stomach or have been glutened)
  • Ginger (for nausea and stomach upsets. I rub it on my stomach and the soles of my feet, roll it on my hands and then inhale)
  • Protect/On Guard (this one I use DAILY. I had the Doterra On Guard but tried the much cheaper Fabulous Frannie Protect and it's just as good, if not better. I roll it on my feet morning and night or whenever I change shoes).
I have this bigger case that I pack in my checked luggage and this small keychain case that I keep in my handbag.

Recently Listening To: This song. Such a great adaptation of such an image filled incredible Psalm. Love love love.

Also this song, on repeat. It's such a perfect picture of God's love and mercy. The lyrics about the criminal in his cell SLAY me. So beautiful and so true. There's no greater love than God's love for you - or me.
