Well hey you! Happy Friday!!
My day has started super early because I've got a morning full of conference calls with clients so I am writing to you bright eyed, bushy tailed and a little bit cold because these winter mornings are not at all fun. But alas! I am also writing to you bursting with excitement because it's FRIDAY and the weekend is almost here.... and another week past means another week sooner to our trip back to the US!
But before I get too ahead of myself,
Let me catch you up on our week! >>
Recently Watching: Sleeping Beauty: A Knight Avenger's Tale.
Last Friday Jesse and I took two friends out to see the opening night of Sleeping Beauty (we did have free media tickets, but this doesn't influence our opinion!) and it was SO much better than I expected.
As a pantomine, the show is ALL about audience participation and it's probably even more fun for adults than it is for kids. It will have you laughing out loud, booing, cheering and dancing along as it's the perfect mix of song, dance, comedy and crazy antics.
If you're in Sydney, definitely go and check it out whilst it's on at the State Theatre!
Recently Enjoying: ALLLL the puppy snuggles. Seriously. Could they be any cuter?!
And yes, my office is totally that dark during the day in winter, hence my obsession with all the lamps and light up things to make it seem like it's intentional and "cosy" ๐
Recently Loving: Blue sky days and lots and lots of walking. Jesse had Thursday, Friday and Monday off so we got in lots of walking time. I still had to work but took extra long lunch breaks so we could walk and spend time together.
Let's just say, we have caught all the Pokemon in our area.
Recently Laughing At: My Dad's typos. I guess an endoscopy on the beach would be less stressful? But not so hygienic ๐
He meant to write Enzo's on the beach, apparently.
And yes, that's what my parents do when they're away... send Jesse, my sister and I plenty of photos bragging about how much better their view is to ours... but we do it to everyone while we're travelling so I guess it's only fair...
Recently Playing: ALLL the board games! Because we are constantly adding to our collection...
We had a board game night with friends after everyone came back from a board game convention (I didn't go, but Jesse did) and Jesse came home with Pick Your Poison (SO fun - like an adult "Would You Rather" that's so inappropriate so so so funny - AU link here).
The pictured game was one that one of our friends brought over and that we're going to be buying because it was so fun; Joking Hazard (AU link here). Again, so inappropriate but SO good.
If you like Cards Against Humanity, I HIGHLY recommend buying both of them (and my favourite; Bucket of Doom - AU link here).
Recently Trying: To not be attacked by cockatoos on my morning walk. Lately they're have been HUNDREDS in the park of a morning just sitting on the grass eating the grass seeds (I presume?) and then they line the streets, hanging out in all the trees as I walk back home.
Recently Reading: ALL THE BOOKS! Here's my current TBR stack;
- The Last of the Bonegilla Girls (AU link here)
- The Tall Man (AU link here)
- The Year That Changed Everything (AU link here)
- Wilde Like Me (AU link here)
- Suicide Club (AU link here)
Recent Plans: This weekend we currently have ZERO plans so we'll be doing alll the relaxing - and hopefully a bit of cooking too because I need to re-test and photograph some new blog recipes!
The weekend may also involve a trip to IKEA (I say YAY Jesse says UGH) because I have an idea for a new photography set up that I need Jesse to help me put together. It's going to double as storage, a new decorating spot and be moveable so I can take it in and out of the room easily. Is that something you want to hear about? Let me know!
I also need to do some serious grocery shopping and I'm thinking about maybe doing some fun instagram stories sharing some of my favourite grocery finds because I always love seeing them from other people!
Recently Posting: This 4 Ingredient Lemon Cashew Energy Balls Recipe that's paleo, vegan and seriously ridiculously delicious. I'm kind of annoyed that I ate the last two last night... but I'm going to have to make more today!
But tell me,
How has your week been?
What are your weekend plans?
