It's no secret that I'm not a monochrome kind of girl. Whilst I do have a gazillion and one plain black t-shirts in my wardrobe, they're only there so I can add a pop of colour elsewhere.
I definitely live life in colour (especially pink!) and that's why this month's decor theme turned out completely different to what I originally planned. You see, I started out wanting a book theme for the month - but that quickly turned into more and more of a rainbow theme as I gravitated towards all of the bright coloured things.
So let me share the details of this month's styling! >>
I usually start with my peg board - but this month, I started with our handmade recycled wood bookcase! My bookshelves are overflowing at the moment - so I needed to use the bookcase to hold ALL THE BOOKS - so I decided to pull all of the bright rainbow coloured books to fill the top and bottom shelves of the bookcase.
On the middle shelf is my current TBR list (currently consisting of; The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, The Half Sister, Lovesome, When Life Gives You Lululemons, The Love That I Have, Burning Fields, The Wonder of Us and Flying Tips for Flightless Birds) and the bargain of the month - a little house shelf (found at Woolworths for $2!) with the cutest unicorn pencil holder inside.
The Details:
READ Letters - Kmart ($2 each)

Unicorn - Kmart
Vase - Jar from Target (old stock, picked up on clearance)
Diffuser - Ellia Australia
Frame - TK Maxx
Since I went with the rainbow theme for the bookcase, I decided to continue it through the rest of the room - finding some fun rainbow pieces for my peg board, creating a print for my hanging frame and making a quick rainbow bunting using felt.
To make the bunting, I simply cut felt hearts, punched out holes on either sides with a hole punch (I used a really sharp single hole punch) and then threaded some twine through the holes to string it up.
The "Hello I'm a Bookworm" sign on the left was a mini hack - I'd found the sign at Typo a little while back but it said "Hello I'm Awesome" and I decided to change it to make it more like me. A quick little bit of paint and I'd made it my own!

For my reading chair, this month I have the snuggliest blanket of all time. This white fur throw rug is so soft and cosy that I have to fight both Jesse and the puppies to get to the chair first because we all love it 😜
Sticking with the colourful theme, I added my DIY Statement Pillow Hack and some bright pink and yellow cushions, as well as a teal throw rug.
The Details:
Chair - IKEA Kivik Chaise in Orrsta
Fur Throw - Just Bedding
Shh I'm Busy Reading Pillow - Handmade, see here
Pink Cushion - Amazon

Teal Throw - Bed Bath n Table
And don't go thinking I went without pom poms this month - because sitting pretty in this beautiful seagrass basket from Tay Tao is my favourite pink pom pom blanket from Just Bedding.
The basket comes in a three pack from Tay Tao (see all of their baskets here) and you can get them in white (as I have), blue, natural, star or a mixed box with three different colours.
These baskets are hand knotted and hand woven in Vietnam, ethically made and perfect for storing throw blankets, toys, magazines, plants or whatever your heart desires.

And yep, you were right... this month's letter board is a bit sassy 😉
There's supposed to be an emphasis on select people - but somehow I don't have any brackets with my letter board letters!
But tell me,
If you were going to pick a colour scheme to describe your personality - what would it look like?
And if you were writing your own "dear world" list, what would you put as your "loves"?
My colour scheme would be LOTS of pink, with bright yellows, lilac purples and teal - and throw in some glitter for good measure, too!
- and I wanted to put chocolate or peanut butter - but I ran out of "-"s haha!
