Hello lovely ones! Happy Friday!
The week has seriously flown by for us, after being away for the weekend (which I sneakily kept from you - but I'll tell you about that next) but I am really in need of a weekend to relax so I'm glad Friday is here!
But before I get to the weekend, I've got to catch you up on the week!
Here's what's been happening recently >>
Recent Adventures: I didn't mention it last Friday, but right after I hit publish on last week's post, I jumped in the car and we drove for four and a bit hours to Forster.
I didn't share anything on the blog - but did share on Instagram (because that's where you tend to hear things first! Make sure you follow @southerninlaw there!)
We were there for a family memorial to scatter my nanna's ashes and we spent the weekend by the like, catching up with family.
On the drive up, I spotted a unicorn and I wasn't even delirious from the drive! 😛
But whilst we had lots of family time - as I'm such an early riser, it meant I also had plenty of reading time! I finished Child of Africa (and really enjoyed it) whilst laying out in the sun by the lake.
I dragged a pillow and blanket and set myself up on a bench - which my Dad thought was hilarious because he looked out from their verandah to see me laying flat out on the bench and took a photo because apparently, I looked like I'd had a big night out the night before.
Let's just say, that photo better not surface... I haven't seen it, but I bet it's not flattering.
Recent Realisation: This has been an epic book week.
Jesse asked me how my day was yesterday and I replied with a photo of books and he texts back "Wait.... MORE books?"
Yes husband, more books are always needed... especially when I've already read three books this week!
Here's the book haul for the week so far - which is a mix of purchases and books sent to me from publishers/authors.
- Burning Fields by Alli Sinclair (due to publish in June)
- The Love That I Have by James Moloney (due to publish in June)
- The Lily and the Rose by Jackie French (new release - out now)
- The Rending and the Nest by Kaethe Schwehn (new release - out now)
- Water Under the Bridge by Lily Malone (new release - out now)
- A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
- Perfect North by Jenny Bond
- Lost and Found by Brooke Davis
- Alphabet Weekends by Elizabeth Noble
I also shared my review of The Right Girl earlier this week which I SERIOUSLY loved and hope gets made into a movie. So so good!
Recently Eating: Easter eggs and drinking coffee (or chai lattes). The temperature dropped dramatically this week so I'm using that as my excuse... and my DIY Bunny Pots are to blame for the Easter eggs.
Also, I bought the Cadbury Creme Egg Ice Cream on Wednesday and shared a PSA on Instagram because it is goooooooooooooooooooood... and gluten free... and half price at Coles this week. Go go go!
Recently Trying: To not get rained on. The week started out fine, but by Wednesday the rain set in. It was too rainy on Wednesday to even consider a walk, on Thursday I only got a third of a walk in before racing home as it started raining (only to have it stop raining as I got to my front door... typical) and today I managed to make it all the way without getting wet. Autumn is well and truly here!
Recently Wishlisted: This Rae Dunn Daily Planner Tray (currently on sale) to have by my keyboard so I can put all of my notes/etc in and keep everything neat. I've also seen someone put this on a plate stand and use a dry-erase/whiteboard marker to write their projects on - so that's a clever idea too!
A Rose Gold Balloon Dog Statue and I don't really know why... it came up on my Explore Feed on Amazon and now I need it.
This Book Lover Blvd Sign for my bookcase.
And a Happy Birth Yay! Glass... even though my birthday isn't until August. I've always wanted a birthday plate - but now I think I need a birthday plate, a birthday mug, a birthday glass and a birthday tea cup too 😛
Recent Posts: This week on the bloggity I shared a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious Paleo Jam Filled Muffin Recipe (that we're planning on making again tomorrow as I atethe last one in the freezer!) and I shared a simple simple Easter craft with these Easy DIY Easter Bunny Pots.
But tell me,
How has your week been?
What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen whilst driving?
And what have you put on your wishlist recently?
