Recent Things: Cotton Candy Skies and Candle Lies

Well hey! Happy Friday!

I'm pretty sure it was just Sunday a second ago - but somehow it's Friday again and I'm not complaining because that means the weekend is NEAR!

But before I can get to the weekend, I've got to catch you up on our week!
Here's what's been happening in our world this week! >>

Recently Admiring: The skies!

We've had beautiful weather the last few days - and the most incredible morning skies!

No filter, no editing, nada.

Just nature's beauty.

SERIOUSLY, how can you beat that?!

The weather has been so good that even this guy ^^ joined me on a walk!

As we were walking, we decided we'd head down to walk out to the edge of the dock as we still hadn't been down to see it since it was built (it used to be a rickety old wooden thing).

And, as we were walking back up the hill from the water, we spotted our friends Chris and Benita and walked with them for the rest of their lap. So the walk was a win all around!

Recently Smelling: My favourite candle of all time. Glasshouse's Tahaa. It's a mix of coconut, sugar cane and frankincense and smells like the most decadent caramel.

Speaking of candles. I was browsing Amazon and came across this one.... Did you realise that Old Book Scented Candles are a thing? I sure didn't! Looking at the reviews... perhaps it shouldn't be a thing..

I think I'd be more inclined to buy the Reading at the Cafe Scented Candle though - which is supposed to smell like coffee and chocolate pastries.

Recently Eating: Cob's Movie Theatre Butter Popcorn - which they sent me last week! It's the perfect reading snack 😜

Recently Read: I haven't had much time to read this week - but I started and finished Love Honour and O'Brien which was not what I expected. It follows the story of Holly Love who is on a mission to track down her dirtbag of an ex-fiance who has left her in the lurch after she packed up her life and moved to the Blue Mountains to marry him.

But when she goes looking for her ex-fiance, she finds a whole host of interesting characters - from an Elvis impersonator and vengeful thugs to a psychic and a strange old lady living in an Egyptian themed house that's more like a jail.

I then devoured Dinner at Rose's and LOVED it. Such a great story with incredible characters and a story line that hooks you in from the very beginning. This was a random secondhand bookstore pick - but now I really want to read her other books... especially because she has a book called "Chocolate Cake for Breakfast". UM, YEAH! I can get on board with that!

Recent Success: Keeping all of my office plants alive 🤣

Though, I did think I killed the peace lily the other week when it went from being beautiful and lush to COMPLETELY dead and wilted over night - but that's what they do. I soaked it in water, it perked back up and all is right with the world!

But hey, I mustn't have that much of a black thumb - because check out my pineapple plant!!!!

That was the top of a pineapple once upon a time and now it's a huge monstrous thing that I had to repot on the weekend. It is HUGE!

Recent Posts: This week on the bloggity, I shared our FAVOURITE soup recipe of the moment - The Best Lentil Vegetable Soup Recipe as well as a Valentine's Home Decor Inspiration post with our February Styling!

If you could make one scent into a candle, what would it be?
For me, it would be the sweet smell of gardenia's on a warm summer's morning. You can get all the gardenia scented things - but nothing smells quite as good. Or the smell of rain... which probably makes me weird, but I love that earthy, refreshing smell.
