Recent Things: That Time Jesse Woke Up in a Spaceship

Why hello there! Happy Friday! This week is another week that has sped by - and as my first official week back at work, it's also been a week that has been jam packed.

But I'm not going to bore you with work details - let me fill you in on the fun from the week that was!
Here's what's been happening in our world recently! >>

Recently Laughing At: My hair - or people's reactions to it.

If you follow me on Instagram you would have already heard the story from my own mouth on my insta stories - but apparently yesterday I had either a really good hair day or a really bad one because all of a sudden I had like 10 people commenting on my hair?

A client started it off, followed by a random guy in the street, then a woman on the train, then another guy as I was getting off the train (who was uber creepy and asked me what my job was because I looked like a "sexy receptionist"), then a store clerk as I bought something from Kmart, then some random guy trying to raise money for some charity I've never heard of and then an old lady who was asking for directions.

To clarify, I did NOTHING out of the norm to my hair. It was frizzy AF and in total mermaid hair mode.

And yes, apparently a lot of people didn't realise I wear glasses because I got lots of replies to my insta stories about them. They're only reading/computer glasses but my eyes are pretty woeful. As a kid I had the opposite of a lazy eye (they thought it was a lazy eye but apparently it was overactive... there's a name for it but I can't think of it) and had to have surgery - but now as an adult I have one eye that's brilliant and one eye that's not so great. Usually I can see fine - but if I'm tired, I find my eyes get worse or I end up getting headaches so some days I wear my glasses all day long - yesterday was one of those days (save for the evening when I wasn't reading/working on the computer).

Recently Diffusing: Fabulous Frannie's Protect Blend

My Mum was sneezing non stop and Jesse was complaining of a sore throat so I busted out the essential oils. I love this protect blend (also available in a roll on) as it smells great - and I really think it works. I have it running in the diffuser in my office almost all of the time and during flu season or when my family are sick I'll rub it on the balls of my feet (and then put socks on).

Recent Walks: Jesse and I both started back at work this week which means I'm back to walking alone! I had a bunch of meetings this week so that meant waking up early and beating the ranger to the park gates!

Recent Accomplishments: Putting together a Pinterest board of all of my lunchbox friendly/make ahead recipes to make it easier for you with kids going back to school or if you're going back to work!

Recent Enjoying: Time with friends. In the past week we've had board game nights and dinners and said goodbye to a sweet friend who's heading back home to Argentina (we'll miss you Lore!). We're so lucky to have awesome friends who fill us up and are so fun to spend time with.

Recent Tears: Tears of laughter over Jesse and his new VR set up.

Okay, I want you to imagine this. You come into the room to find Jesse in that chair with the headset on - only to see him resting his head on his right arm.

You look at the screen and see nothing and realise he's asleep.

You call out "Jesse... Jesse" only to realise he has headphones in and cannot hear you - so you give him a few gentle nudges on the shoulder.

He wakes up, looking around (still with the headset on - in a virtual reality spaceship) and realises he's fallen asleep inside his spaceship.

Oh how I wish I recorded it as Jesse awoke inside his spaceship confused because it was HILARIOUS.

But on another note-  this girl is seriously regretting letting Jesse buy another VR headset. He bought it on the premise that he wouldn't play as many games - which I took as not spending as much time playing games - but I think he meant he would just play this game and this game only.

Seriously, if anyone has tips on how to break a video game addiction - please send them my way. I'm pretty much a gaming widow. It's not cool...

Recent Reads: Little Secrets by Anna Snoekstra. I really enjoyed this book! Being back at work means my reading rate has slowed dramatically but I finished this one this week and was totally surprised by how much I liked it!

Recently Loving: My furry little coworkers. Even if they just sleep all day long.

Recent Posts: This week on the blog I shared my Tropical Home Decor Theme for January as well as the most delicious Vegan Chocolate and Peanut Butter Crunch Bars Recipe.

But tell me, how has your week been?
Where's the weirdest place you've ever fallen asleep?
And what's something you're loving this week?
The weirdest place I ever fell asleep was under the barstools in our kitchen. I was probably about 9 and for some reason I crawled under them and just fell asleep? I am a bit odd and like laying on the floor (like, on the carpet in Jesse's office when reading a book or talking to him) but I don't really know why I decided to lay under the chairs... weird child.
