Why hello there, lovely ones!
This week has been one of those weeks that has flown by. I don't know if it's because Jesse has been off work and I'm kind of in that limbo land where I don't really know what it is - but it feels like Friday snuck up on me really quickly!
Nevertheless, lots of good things have been happening this week so I have lots to share with you!
So let me catch you up on our week! >>
Recent MUST Reads: The Loneliest Girl in the Universe. I devoured this in like 2 hours and then immediately handed it to Jesse to read just so I'd have someone to talk to about it. He read it almost as quickly and loved it too and then I went to church on Sunday to find two friends had also bought and read it after seeing my recommendation so we could talk about it too!
Since then, I've been getting messages and emails from people all over the world who bought it, read it and loved it too.
Seriously, this book NEEDS to be made into a movie. Totally not what I was expecting and so good.
I also read and loved The Hate U Give which is another book I'd put on my must read list. This one is actually being made into a movie that's due to release this year and it's such a powerful book.
It's an eye opening story inspired by really events which as Meghan said, really should be on reading lists for high schoolers as it's such a powerful story.
Recently Started: This morning I started Little Secrets by Anna Snoekstra and so far it's got my attention! I'll have to let you know what I think once I finish it!
Here's the blurb for you;
What happens when ambition trumps the truth?
A town reeling in the wake of tragedy
An arsonist is on the loose in Colmstock, Australia, most recently burning down the town’s courthouse and killing a young boy who was trapped inside..
An aspiring journalist desperate for a story
The clock is ticking for Rose Blakey. With nothing but rejections from newspapers piling up, her job pulling beers for cops at the local tavern isn’t nearly enough to cover rent. Rose needs a story—a big one.
Little dolls full of secrets
In the weeks after the courthouse fire, precise porcelain replicas of Colmstock’s daughters begin turning up on doorsteps, terrifying parents and testing the limits of the town’s already fractured police force.
Rose may have finally found her story. But as her articles gain traction and the boundaries of her investigation blur, Colmstock is seized by a seething paranoia. Soon, no one is safe from suspicion. And when Rose’s attention turns to the mysterious stranger living in the rooms behind the tavern, neighbor turns on neighbor and the darkest side of self-preservation is revealed.

Recently Buying: ALL THE BARGAINS at TK Maxx. Seriously, I could live at TK Maxx.
Yesterday I picked up a bunch of goodies for under $90. The jeans on the left were $180 reduced to $12, the cute Christmas canisters were $2 each, the leather wallet was $8 and those vases were just $10.
Also, there's a sneaky peek at this month's decor... I'm planning on sharing it with you next week so stay tuned!
Recently Loving: ALLLLLLLLLLLL the extra time to spend with Jesse. I'm not sure if he's loving it as much, but I'm so glad he has time off work so I can spend lots of extra time with him.
In my dream world, I'd be a rich millionaire living somewhere pretty and spending all day every day annoying Jesse. He's my person.
Recently Playing: ALL the board games - and we're having friends over tonight for board games and a barbecue which means we get to play the even more fun games.
Seriously though, party games are always so much more fun!
Be sure to check out our Ultimate Board Game Guide if you're in need of board game suggestions!
Recent Finds: GIANT cheese logs? Is that what you call them? I snapped a photo of this to send to Jesse saying "finally a cheese stick that meets my cheese requirements" and somehow that translated to him as "this is what I've bought" because when I arrived home without it he was bitterly disappointed.
Recent Posts: This week on the bloggity I shared this No Bake Chocolate Coconut Crunch Bliss Balls Recipe and an easy How to Make a No Sew Fabric Wall Hanging Tutorial which shared another sneak peek at this month's decor.
Recently Annoying: EVERYONE with my horrible sounding voice... on my Instagram stories... but apparently you all like hearing me blab away?!?! We'll see how long that lasts and whether you still want to be my friend in a week 😜😜😜
But tell me, how has your week been?
What's the last book you read?
And what is the one thing you're most looking forward to this year?
This year, I'm looking forward to so many things - friends getting married, exciting work opportunities, celebrations, travel adventures - I don't think I could pick just one! But maybe I'd pick Jesse hopefully becoming an Australian citizen! That's something we've been waiting on for quite some time and it's finally time to send in the application so he can sit the test!
