Why hello there, lovely one! I'm currently in that post Christmas fog/laziness where I'm not really sure what day it is - but today is indeed Friday - and that means I have lots to catch you up on!
It's been a week of celebration and excitement so let me jump right in and share it with you!
Here's what's been happening in our world this week! >>
This year was a relatively low key Christmas - but we managed to fit in lots of celebration!
We started on Christmas Eve with a pool party with friends who feel more like family (the best kind of friends) and it was the PERFECT day for it as it was super hot.
My Dad decided to amuse the kids and dress up as Santa - which the littlest totally seemed to believe as she watched him with her mouth wide open in complete awe - but as soon as he took the beard off he went back to normal old Gary ๐
It's all about the beard, people!
We had a super relaxed barbecue with lots of snacks and then when a storm rolled in at around 3pm, I coaxed all of the kiddos out of the pool with ice cream and lollies ๐ (Luckily we'd worn them out in the pool - otherwise my friends may have been cursing me for the sugar high once they got home).
The gingerbread tray was a container I picked up at Big W for $5 (was $10) just before Christmas - but I've just bought this tray to use for next year (and more grown up guests, haha!)
We LOVE Supernatural (it's our favourite tv show of all time) and I couldn't pass up a good pun so I decided to design these "Deck the Halls with Salt and Iron, Impala-la-la-la-la-la-la-la" shirts for us.
Unfortunately, we don't know enough SPN fans so it was more of an inside joke.

We had celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve (after our pool party) with my family so our Christmas Day was super relaxed. We went to church in the morning, hung out at home reading books and going for a walk (it was so much colder than the day before as it was pretty dreary and blah) and then had Christmas Dinner with family (less my cousins - hence why we'd had Christmas Eve dinner!).
We had family over in the morning and friends over in the evening so it was a day of eating and talking. We busted open our marvelous Gingerbread creation and I think the lights may be ruined forever as they are caked in icing ๐คฃ But hey! It looked good while it lasted!
My white tree is just starting to bloom in the front yard so summer is definitely here!
And for the first time ever, I took my Christmas decorations down before the new year! Why? Because I was anxious to redecorate my office!
I'm going with a summer theme for January and picked up this gorgeous hand carved jewellery/trinket box from TK Maxx on Wednesday for just $12! Major props to Jesse for willingly taking me shopping! It's a Christmas miracle!!! I'll have to show you my summer decor once it's all finished!
We've played Oregon Trail Hunt for Food, Cards Against Humanity, Shit Happens, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, Wazabi (a new fave!) and Mรถlkky which is a new family fave as it's the perfect outdoor game!
Recently Loving: Daring to Hope by Katie Davis Majors. I LOVED Kisses from Katie but this one is even better. Katie has such an incredible story.
Recently Enjoying: Pool days and summer weather! Oh how I love summer!
Recent Posts: This week on the blog I shared just one post - as I didn't want you stopping by the blog when you could be spending Christmas with your family or friends! Luckily, that one post was a goody - and one we continue to make again and again and again.
Even if you don't have leftover Christmas ham, go and buy some ham and make this Gluten Free Ham and Cheese Strata Recipe ASAP. It's SO good!
