Christmas is over and do you know what that means? SALE TIME!
Before I tell you all about our Christmas, I thought I'd put together a quick post on our top things to buy during the Boxing Day Sales. These items are where you'll usually snap up a good deal and are the perfect things to spend Christmas vouchers/money on!
Here's our best savings picks! >>
- New Sheets/Linen & Towels
This is a broad one but we always save buying new bed sheets/covers and towels for the boxing day sales as they're so much cheaper than any other time of the year.
Try OzSale or retailers like Target who currently have their Grandeur Towel Range and bedding on sale.
- Fitness Gadgets
Looking to get a head start on your New Year's Resolutions? Didn't get an activity band for Christmas? Now's the time to look at options!
TomTom have a new TomTom Touch Fitness Tracker that's available at Rebel Sport and Officeworks. Jesse loves it and it even has a body composition tool and heart rate monitor. The only thing it doesn't have is an alarm function!
- Kitchen Appliances
Sure, it might be appealing to buy a brand new blender/toaster/mixer as a Christmas gift, but if you're really savvy you'll save those purchases til December 26. Today is when all of the excess Christmas stock goes on sale and retailers have some incredible bargains.
I just got this KitchenAid Artisan Food Chopper which is the perfect mini food processor to keep on your benchtop for nice cream (banana/frozen fruit ice cream), food prep, sauces and even making baby food if you've got a little one around. It's currently on sale for $129.
- Home Decor Pieces
Start the New Year on a beautiful note by snapping up some home decor bargains! If you're a colourful cushion fan, now is the time to buy some throw pillows as retailers will reduce the prices on their linen and home decor ranges - or maybe you want a feature piece like this Owl LED Table Lamp. - Back to School/Work Essentials
Now is the time to snap up some back to school/work essentials before the prices go back up on January 1st. We often find that the prices go down in the Boxing Day Sales but back up again in mid January as people are preparing for the back to school rush.
Whilst exercise books and pencils are more likely to go on sale in mid January, look at things like backpacks, pencil cases and home office accessories. Jesse's back to work picks are this USB Tower Fan for keeping cool whilst you work away and this Contigo Autoseal Travel Mug and Thermos King Stainless Steel Vacuum Food Jar for coffees and lunches to go.
- Kitchenware and Serveware
As a food blogger I can never pass up a good kitchenware sale. Sure I have too many plates and bowls and cups and whatever, but when they're 50-70% off, how can you pass it up?!
This time of year is when I usually stock up on pieces for entertaining. Whether it be a gorgeous platter or a fancy mug set or something different like this La Cuisson Camembert Baker with Cheese Spreader.
- Technology
Need a new TV? Want a new sat nav system? You can probably find some seriously good bargains during the Boxing Day Sales period. This year we got a new Navman EZY350LMT for some road trips we have planned later in the year (and regular city driving as our Rav doesn't have built in sat nav!) - Christmas Decorations
Now's the time to buy all things Christmas. It sounds a bit counterintuitive - but if you noticed your Christmas tree or decorations are looking a bit shabby, have a look around to see what you can get on sale!
And if you like Christmas candy/chocolates - #treatyoself 😉
But tell me, will you be taking advantage of the post Christmas sales?
What's on your to buy list?
