Hellooooo, lovely ones! We made it to Friday! Woohoo!
This week has been all sorts of crazy and filled with a whole lot of drama - but I'm not going to get into that because I feel like this is one place on the internet that should be drama free.... so let's talk about cake and chocolate and ice cream instead; shall we?
Here's what we've been up to recently! >>
Recent Baking: CAKE! If you thought I was joking when I said let's talk about cake, you clearly don't know me :P
We had some friends over for dinner on Sunday night and I decided we needed a delicious dessert to finish the evening on a sweet note. I broke my usual rule of not experimenting with new recipes when sharing food with others - but it was so worth it.
These Caramel Apple Muffins are beyond delicious and I need to make them again this weekend to photograph and share with you!
Recent Disaster: Thinking Lego was a good idea with the little boy I volunteer with. Aye aye aye... it was a bit of a disaster. 6 year old boys apparently think you break lego pieces apart by smashing them on the floor and we had pieces EVERYWHERE.
But hey! Look at my cute lego house....
I was going to say, if only it was that cheap to buy a house in Sydney... but then I thought about it and Lego is quite expensive so it would probably be pretty on-par price wise if I built an entire house out of lego :P
Note my garbage bin out the front... it was supposed to be a mailbox but then I decided it was garbage collection day instead ;P
Recent Creations: A WHOLEEEEEEE LOTTA CHOCOLATE! If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen some sneak peeks for a post I'm working on for next week.
Oh me oh my is it delicious, friends.
Recent Want: PB & Co's new Bestie Spreads. Their Almond Butter and Cashew Butter is currently in my iHerb cart for my next order. It's sugar free, certified vegan and looks super creamy and delicious!
While you're at it... do yourself a favour and add this Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter to your cart before it disappears.... SO SO good!
I'm hopelessly obsessed with nut butters though as I really want the Chocmeister Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (HELLOOOO dark chocolate nutella!) but I'm sitting here like "how many nut butter jars is too many?" because I seriously have at least 8 in the cupboard right now...
Hello, my name is Kristy and I'm a nut butter hoarder.
I think I've made and eaten three batches already this week.
Recent Finds: Halo Top Ice Cream in Australia.
Now the big question is... was it worth the expensive price tag? Not really.
Hear me out, the vanilla was really good (the strawberry was fake strawberry tasting) but I wasn't a huge fan. Jesse loved the fact that he could eat a whole top but I was a bit eh. It left a weird coating on my tongue and had a bit of an aftertaste and since this girl isn't afraid of calories... I'd rather eat real ice cream with sugar.
And the cheap ass in me totally thought "for $12 I could buy 3 tubs of premium gelato from the local gelato factory...." let's be real, friends. Priorities :P
Recent Laughs: Trixie's weird sitting habits. She really loves this single lounge in our living room and will sit there with her head up on the arm rest watching the world. If someone is sitting on the couch? She'll swi"tch on mountain goat mode and jump up onto the arm rest to sit by them :P
Recent Happiness: Beautiful Spring mornings at the park. Oh how I love Spring!
Recent Posts: This week on the blog I shared this No Bake Apple Pie Energy Bites Recipe as well as this Paleo Banana Almond Cake Recipe - both of which are seriously delicious and a must try!
But tell me, how has your week been?
What's something delicious you've made this week?
And have you tried Halo Top?
