Recent Things: Newspaper Features, Anniversary Adventures and Dilemmas

And just like that, my friends, it's Friday again!

Luckily, whilst this week has been all sorts of crazy as per usual - I am ending the week feeling fabulous after taking a day off right in the middle of the week with Jesse so we could celebrate our wedding anniversary. But let's not jump ahead of things....

Let me catch you up on what's been happening in our world! >>

Kristy and Jesse in the Daily Telegraph Newspaper

Kristy and Jesse in the Daily Telegraph NewspaperRecent Randomness: Being in the newspaper.  Yep..

Jesse and I agreed to be in an article in the newspaper about how lots of young adults in Sydney are moving back in with their parents to save for a home (as housing prices in Sydney are a LITTTTTLEEEEEEE bit insane << understatement of the century) and we assumed it would be just a teeny tiny little feature in the real estate section - only to find when we went looking for the article in the paper on the weekend that it was a WHOLE PAGE.

We were flipping through and then BAM, there's our ugly mugs ;)

Sleepy TrixieTrixie Dog Relaxing on the Couch

Recent Laughs: Trixie's ridiculous sleeping habits. That puppy spends 90% of her day sleeping and she always manages to sleep in the weirdest positions or spots. Sprawled out like the above, fast asleep with all four paws in the air (like she just don't care!), fast asleep under our bed or squished between our pillows on the bed.

Mind you, if I had sometimes had the chance to sleep all day every day, I think I'd do it too :P

Movie and Beach Day for our Anniversary

Recent Adventures: Wednesday was our 3 year wedding anniversary and we both decided to take the day off to spend with each other!

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Movie Review Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Movie Review

We started at the movies where we saw Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children in Gold Class.

The movie was AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING (though, don't think it's a kids movie because I know plenty of kids who would be terrified of it) and I'm so glad we chose to see it as it's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time! Usually I find Tim Burton's films to be either a hit or a miss (sometimes he's a little too cray for my liking) but this one was perfect.

As Jesse said; it was funny when it needed to be funny, sad when it needed to be sad, happy when it needed to be happy and suspenseful in just the right amount too.

But if you're in Australia, I have a PSA for you. Hoyts Lux is 10000000x better than Event Cinema's Gold Class. Why? The chairs are way comfier at Hoyts and you get free popcorn and drinks (well.. not really free... it's included in the cost of your Lux ticket which is the same as Gold Class). At Event Cinemas you get a whole lotta nada.

Heading to Wattamolla Beach

After the movies, we headed to the National Park to go to Wattamolla Beach!

Apparently a lot of you saw my Instagram stories and were amazed that Australia really looks like "the outback" - and I just wanted to clarify... this is not a normal street in Australia.... it is a road through a giant national park and thus has a lot more "bush" looking stuff around it.

Plus, it's way too green for the outback. Throw some red dirt on the ground and dry out those trees and then maybe we might be talking.

Wattamolla Beach NSW

A short drive later and we arrived at THIS.

Wattamolla has to be one of my favourite places - especially because it's somewhere Jesse will actually swim at.

Wattamolla Beach NSW

As well as having the beach, Wattamolla has a lagoon which means Jesse isn't terrified of sharks :P

We actually timed our trip perfectly as we had beautiul blue skies and warm sunshine whilst we were there and as soon as we headed back to the car it started getting cold and windy and the clouds rolled in.

The water was really cold but this girl (who HATES cold water) still went into the water because I decided I had my bikini on and made all that effort so I may as well get in :P

Megan's Southern In Law Paleo Pumpkin Bread

Recent Faves: Seeing all of your Instagram Stories - especially Megan's when my The Best Healthy Paleo Pumpkin Bread Recipe keeps popping up ;)

My Nanna Can't Spell My Name

Recent Laughs: When my own Nanna can't even spell my name right....

Hello, I'm Krystie.

She didn't even get half right... well.. she got the Kr and the st... but maybe try Kristy.

Why Can't I Be Everywhere At Once

Recent Dilemma: That I can't be everywhere at once.

I'm supposed to be going to a high tea event on Saturday afternoon with a bunch of ladies from church (and when I say a bunch, I mean 20... so that's a really big bunch) but of course I had something come up that's ten minutes before the high tea is due to start. That would be okay if it was in the same suburb - but it's forty minutes away from the high tea and I don't know if I'll even make it in time to the high tea to be late.

Oy vey, my friends... oy vey.

Recent News: If you've been following SIL for a while, you'd know that over the past couple of years we've teamed up with The Reject Shop to share some pretty awesome DIY projects. Jesse and I are really excited to be working with TRS again this Christmas - but first, we thought we'd let you know about a competition they're holding.

If you're a DIY fan like us and you're in Aus, be sure to check out their Halloween Competition and enter to win a $100 gift card. New winners are announced every week so the odds are defintiely in your favour!

But tell me, how has your week been?
Do you like swimming at the beach or would you prefer a pool?
And what's the last movie you saw at the cinema?
