HELLLLOOOOOOOOO! I am now 24 and one week and, to be honest, not feeling any wiser, however, I feel like everyone has told me 24 was one of their favourite years ever so hopefully it's a marvellous one ;)
But first, let me recap what's been happening in our world this week! >>
Recently Laughs: I'm starting with THE FUNNIEST thing of the week as Jesse has been waiting all week for me to upload this. YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS VIDEO!
We laughed ourselves silly over this, however, you are probably wondering why on earth Jesse has a unicorn mask?
Well that, my friends, would be my birthday present. Jesse took my unicorn love WAYYYYYYYYY too far - but I'm kind of glad he did because this video is worth every cent :P
Recently Loving: The first signs of SPRING! I know, I know, I'm getting ahead of myself as we're still in awful August, however, we're half way through so SPRING IS NEAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
The days are getting warmer and blue skies are a daily occurrence so I am one happy girl!
Recent Trixieness: Lots and lots and lots of snuggles. This little lady has been spending most of her week snuggled up on my red chair (with me optional). I can never sit down on my red chair (a huge comfy armchair) without her joining me but this week's she's taken to sitting on it 24/7 as there's currently a snuggly blanket on there :P
Can't say I blame her.
Recent Celebrations: My birthday was last Friday so after sharing my recent things post I headed out to spend the day with my mama, spent the afternoon making this Healthy Vegan Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cupcakes Recipe and then made the BEST lasagna recipe (traditional style with my nomato sauce) that I really need to share the recipe for as it was SO good!
I may have been sick with the flu, however, it was still a lovely birthday thanks to the ones I love!
Recent Reads: One of my beautiful friends surprised me with this book and some gorgeous daffodils for my birthday and I haven't stopped reading it since! Kisses from Katie is about Katie Davis from Amazima who left everything she had ever known, packed up her typical American life and moved to Uganda. She immediately fell in love with the people and the place and quickly realised Uganda was where she needed to be.
It's a story of how Katie overcame all the odds by trusting in God and soon found herself as a mother of many at only 19 and changing the lives of all those around her.
Her story is incredible and my friend gave the book to me because Katie reminded her of me. Katie's life is kind of my dream life. Being surrounded by children who previously didn't know what love was, smothering them with love, sharing the gospel with them and seeing them thrive.
It is definitely a must read as Katie's story is one that has to be read to believed - and it's not one that will leave you quickly either.
Recent Discoveries: Mojo Kombucha anddddddd it was only $4.50 at our local health food store and it was really really good. I tried the ginger tonic whilst Jesse had the raspberry passionfruit and they were SO good!
Though I did have a friend tell me Kombucha Wonder is even better so I may have to investigate this :P
Recent Terror: This is Trixie's terror, however, the other night we were watching Stranger Things on Netflix and Trixie totally freaked out when Eleven appeared on the screen by herself.
She acted like there was actually someone stuck inside the tv and barked and growled until she went away :P
Recent Joy: SPRING IS COMINGGGGGGGGG! The weather has been so warm the last couple of days that I have walked around IN A TSHIRT and have even spent some time working outside in the sunshine with bare feet! BOOM!
Awful August BE GONEEEEEEEEEEE!
Recent Success: Totally beating Jesse at scrabble. I don't know why that moy thinks he can beat someone who practically deals words for a living. I mean, come on!
And when he wasn't looking, I snuck the highest scoring two letter word in scrabble into the mix. Qi thirty three, baby!
In case you didn't know Qi = the life force which most of Chinese philosophy and medicine is based off - and it's in the scrabble dictionary!
Recent Reader Creations: This week Vicky made my Starch Free and Yeast Free Paleo Bread Recipe which she toasted and topped with avocado (AVOCADO TOAST, BABY!!!), Zoe made my Gluten Free Damper Bread Recipe and Steph made our most popular recipe of all time; our Healthy Paleo Banana Bread Recipe.
Recent Snapshots: This photo has to be my favourite of the month. It's not posed at all, this is just how the pups were sitting watching the world together <3
Recent Recipes: This week on the blog I shared my Easy Vegan Waffles Recipe for One as well as my Gluten Free and Vegan Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cupcakes Recipe (which was my birthday cake on Friday!)
PS: If you're looking for a waffle iron, OZSALE is where I got mine!
But tell me, how has your week been?
Anything Exciting? Delicious? New?
What's the last book you read and loved?
And when's the last time you really laughed?
