Why helloooo! It's Friday again and somehow this week went from feeling super slow (I had a full day of meetings and appointments on Monday that felt more like midweek madness) to absolutely flying by and I'm not really sure how we got here... but I'll take it because it means the weekend is close!
Our weekend will officially start a little later than usual this week as we're putting our youth group leader hats on once again to help out with Ignite (to fill in for another leader) and we're actually so excited. It'll be nice to spend time with some familiar and new faces once again!
But let me catch you up on what's been happening in our world recently! >>
Recent Frustrations: This black and white colouring in puzzle. I love puzzles - so, naturally, Jesse bought me a bunch of puzzles for Christmas last year... including this colouring in puzzle.
You see, the idea is that you put the puzzle together and then colour it in... only it's ridiculously difficult because it's entirely black and white with the same lines and patterns repeated over and over and over again.
But once I start, I can't stop - here's the puzzle's progress so far :P Still a long way to go but I've managed to put quite a bit of it together!
Recent Cuteness: Jesse had to leave for work at 5am earlier in the week and didn't want to wake me up so he snuck out of bed and left me a note on my computer as he knew I'd see it once I sat down with my breakfast.
Unlike my Dad who has a "if I'm up everyone else should be too" rule of thinking, Jesse will do everything possible to make sure I stay asleep. Unfortunately I'm a light sleeper so I usually stir, but somehow I was able to go back to sleep until almonst 7am! (TOTALLY unheard of!)

Recent Obsession: Loaded salads. I don't do boring salads, but I do do loaded salads. This one was created after a morning at the farmer's market with loads of super fresh fruits and veggies <3

Recent Addiction: ALLLLLLLLL THE STRAWBERRIES! I can't stop eating strawberries. Winter strawberries are at their prime at the moment and I have been eating punnet after punnet.
One of my current favourite combinations has to be cottage cheese + gluten free cereal (this bowl had these gluten free cornflakes that are organic, sugar free and made with just TWO ingredients!) + strawbs + almond butter. Can't stop, won't stop.
Recent Purchases: This ridiculously cute fox mug. I had a doctors appointment on Monday and decided I deserved a treat afterwards so this ridiculously cute mug ended up in my shopping trolley :P
If you're an Aussie, I got it from Coles and it was only $5! ;)
Recent "Me Time": So whilst my schedule has been craaaaaazy busy lately, I've been making sure I at least make time for "me time" on the weekends (though during the week I count "me time" as watching Netflix with Jesse in bed each night.... I totally objected to the tv in our bedroom initially but I actually kind of love it :P).
This past weekend I spent quite a bit of time snuggled up on my big red chair with Trixie and my book! It was raining and horrible outside so this was just what I needed!

Recent Flavour Sensations: Avocado + salt & pepper + fresh basil, parsley and oregano (or these lightly dried mixed herbs).
I cannot get enough of this combination. Whether it's on Corn Thins like the pictured (because er... rice cakes kind of taste like styrofoam whereas these have been a favourite of mine for YEARS!), on toast or even pasta - it's SO good.
Recent Happy Mail: That's way better than a Happy Meal, IMO. This month's The YA Chronicles Box arrived!
If you haven't heard of these before, The YA Chronicles is a monthly subscription box where you get an awesome book each month as well as a whole heap of themed goodies.
This month's box had a Pride Week theme, however, July's theme is Ladies Who Slay. They still have spots left for that one so sign up here if you're interested (not an affiliate or anything, FYI!). The boxes are $29.99 per month (or cheaper if you buy a 3 or 6 mth subscription) and they ship all over the globe!
They also have a Facebook and Instagram page where they share sneak peeks and photos of the boxes each month so be sure to have a look there too!
Recent Giggles: So, on Wednesday my mama and I went shopping and we headed outside onto the street to look at a few of the Asian butchers for some ribs for Jesse. We were at Hurstville, which for anyone who doesn't live in Sydney's south is kind of like a mini Chinatown and as we were walking past the shops I spotted "Rice Cooker World".
I thought it was pretty fitting for Chinatown and it really was just a shop FULL of rice cookers (and people... apparently rice cookers are a popular item!)

Recent Snacking: Sweet potatoes and almond butter. ALWAYS delicious.
Recent Reminiscing: So I could share our Wedding Anniversary Tradition with you I got out our photobooks and looked through them all. It doesn't matter how many times we read through them, it's always so fun to look back on memories and remember the things we've done, the shows we've watched and the moments we've made!
Be sure to check out my post here: Our Unique Anniversary Present Tradition and How To Create Family Traditions
Recent Recipes: Two new recipes went up on the blog this week! My Vegan Blended Chia Chocolate Mousse Recipe (which is gluten free, grain free and sugar free) and my Homemade Grain Free Vegan Cheesy Crackers Recipe.
But tell me, how has your week been?
Is there a food you can't seem to get enough of this week?
And what's the last thing that made you giggle?
I just had a laugh at the fact that Trixie has come inside with a big purple splodge on her back but I think I need to stop laughing and investigate as to why it looks like she has paint on her fur?!
