Hellllllllllooooo, you! Happy Friday!
This week has been a little bit insane. It's been non-stop, full on and I am so ready for a weekend - but that also means I have lots to share with you!
So here's what we've been up to recently! >>
Recent Celebrations: Jesse's Birthday! On Sunday we celebrated the man of the blog with all of his favourite things - and a trip to the movies! Since it was his birthday, I decided it was the perfect time to splurge and so we went and saw Zootopia in Lux (Hoyts' Gold Class!).
Yup, we saw a "kids movie" in gold class and it was awesome. Electric recliners, popcorn, drinks and Jesse even had a burger in fries whilst reclining and watching the movie :P
Zootopia was a great movie (as all Disney movies are!) and I totally recommend it whether you have kiddos or not! We're undecided on whether it's okay for little little ones as it has a couple of scary bits, however, you can never know whether it will go over their head or not!
We finished the birthday celebrations off with a deeeeeeeeeelicious chocolate cake made by yours truly! I made our favourite Healthy Chocolate Cake Recipe and smothered it in chocolate frosting before topping it with milk and white chocolate stars for my sprinkle-hating husband!
Recent Date Nights: We've had plenty of date night's this week which isn't normal for us but it was so much fun! I say it wasn't normal because I don't want you thinking we go on date nights every single night of every single week - it just so happened that we were out most nights this week!
On Wednesday Night we headed to the movies to see Eddie The Eagle which was such a great movie! I loveeee movies that are based on true stories and Eddie the Eagle is one of those feel good movies that will make you laugh, cry and cheer from beginning to end.
That and Hugh Jackman isn't too bad to look at..... we grow them well here in Australia ;)
Last night we went out on a double date night once again with our friends Tom and Mel! This time we went bowling and I found out that I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllly suck at bowling, haha! Despite the lack of skills, we had a great night which is all that matters!
Money Saving Tip! If you're a Sydney sider, check out Manhattan Superbowl in Mascot (where we went) on a weeknight for super cheap bowling! If you sign up to become a member (just fill out a form with your details on the night) you get 10% off all bowling rates as well as $8 (half price) games from Monday to Thursday!
Recent Fun: As well as everyone else in Facebook-land, I created myself as a Powerpuff Girl earlier in the week and Jesse and my friends think it's almost creepy how much it's just like me. My hair is pretty much always in my signature side braid (I didn't realise that people think that's a "Kristy hairstyle" until a friend's daughter started requesting she do her hair just like mine :P)
I also made Jesse and my Mum thinks it looks just like him too :P
Recent Obsession: Our Raw Mint Chocolate Chip Protein Bites Recipe. I have made two batches this week because I can't stop eating them :P There's pretty much always a jar or container filled with them in our fridge!
I also cannot get enough soup for lunch at the moment! If you haven't had a look yet, be sure to check out our new Healthy Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup Recipe
Recent Product Love: Kevin Murphy's Hydrate.Me Collection! I have hair that's not quite curly and not quite straight but prone to being dry and frizzy and these products are my go-to for taming my crazy lion unicorn mane. I also use the smooth again serum when styling my hair!
Recent Eats: Our week has been full of delicious dinners once again - even with such a crazy schedule!
On Friday Night Jesse requested we have Fakeout Friday and I was all ready to make pizza, however, he'd actually only asked for Fakeout because he wanted Italian - meaning he wanted our Healthy Chicken and Ricotta Lasagna Recipe :P You guys are probably sick of seeing us eat this but it is sooooooooooooo good!
On Saturday Night the rest of the family was having Costco Pizza (the ultimate cheese pizza, according to Jesse) for Jesse's birthday part one, so I decided to whip up a delicious batch of Pumpkin and Lentil Soup for myself. I'll have to share the recipe for this as it's sooooooooo good!
On Sunday Night everyone was having Chinese Takeout for Jesse's Birthday so I decided to make Spaghetti Bolognaise for myself, using our Ultimate Nomato Sauce Recipe as the base, of course! Missing out isn't so bad when you have something delicious to make up for it ;)
On Monday Night Jesse asked for something "healthy with lots of vegetables" so I made up a simple dinner of grilled chicken with all the veggies and our Healthy Creamy Mushroom Sauce Recipe on top!
On Tuesday Night I got home really late and I was all sorts of exhausted. Luckily I'd made Taco Quinoa Bakes the night before and Jesse had them heating up in the oven when I walked in the door. This was then smothered with guacamole and devoured in 0.0000005 seconds :P
On Wednesday Night I felt like something Asian-y so we had our Healthy Sticky Peanut Noodle Stir Fry Recipe with chicken and allll the veggies before heading out to see Eddie the Eagle!
Last night I had to have dinner early as we were picking Tom and Mel up at 5:30, so I made our Healthy Cheesy Tuna Pasta Bake Recipe and devoured it before rushing out the door!
But tell me, how has your week been?
What's the best thing you've eaten this week?
And what did you last see at the movies?
