Hello my loves! Phew! What a week this one has been, but that just means I have lots to share with you! So instead of yapping, let's jump right into it!
Here's what we've been up to recently! > >
Recent Festivities: Christmas mode is in full swing in the SIL house! Jesse put up the lights on our house, the tree is up, the house is decorated and we are counting down the days til Christmas!
We've even received some sweet thank you cards from local kids which make all the hard work worth it! I have a very clever husband!
But the festivities don't end there! ON Sunday afternoon Mama joined me at our church for an afternoon of gingerbread house decorating!!
We now have a house COVERED in lollies and ready to be devoured by the family on Christmas night. Check out the little gummy beans peeking out of the windows and Santa's feet poking out of the chimney!
We were really lucky to have Petite Events Hire come and put together a beautiful lolly buffet for the event and I'm so lucky to have worked with such a great team of women to put this awesome afternoon on! We're so lucky to be apart of a church that's full of so many talented people!
Recent Deliciousness: Our Healthy Green Bean Casserole Recipe! We've been enjoying it at least once a week AND this week decided to switch things up by making the sauce and serving it over lean grilled pork fillets with lots of fresh green beans. Yum yum!
The sauce also works really well with chicken and beef - just make the sauce in the pot and allow it to thicken instead of adding the beans and baking it!
Recent Excitement: We've been planning our Christmas Menu and Nordic Inspired Christmas Table Decorations and I cannot wait til Christmas day! This is seriously my favourite time of year!!
Recent Randomness: We have a scabby old basketball hoop in the parking lot of our church which noone ever uses, however, whilst we were waiting for someone on Sunday afternoon, Jesse and I decided to make the most of it and shoot some hoops :P
Recent Planning: Our NEW ZEALAND ADVENTURE! This vacation has been a long time in the making (we've been talking about it for years) but we've finally gotten our act together and we're going! We'll be in NZ's North Island from December 31st (New Year's Eve!) until January 16th and are so excited.
We're trying to see as much as possible during our stay and experience as much as possible so we'll be doing lots and staying at a huge range of different places (from glamping tents to resorts and cool spots we've found on Air BNB) and there is one big surprise I have planned for Jesse that I'm struggling to keep a secret!
Recent Gardening: Our garden is flourishing and we've got lots of little baby veggies growing! We have heaps of cucumbers once again as well as lots of little zucchinis and our corn is fattening up in the husks so we are EXCITED!! Our lettuce hasn't taken this year as it was kind of overrun by the zucchini plant, however, I'm thinking I might get a big pot to plant the seeds in instead.
Recent Trixieness: The little cheeky puppy has been coming in to watch tv with us each night and of course, instead of lying next to us, she feels the need to lie on top of us. Here she is watching TWD with Jesse :P
Recent Puzzling: We're currently in the middle of doing a Wasgij puzzle and loving and hating it all at the one time :P This one isn't a perspective puzzle like the ones we've had before and instead we're doing one which looks into the future! We've got lots of saggy old ladies butts at the pool so far haha.
But tell me, how has your week been?
What's one place you've always wanted to travel to?
And are you Christmas ready?!
When it comes to travel wishlists, I'm always wanting to travel to tropical destinations (because I hate the cold :P), however, I really want to go to Europe one day as well! New Zealand was Jesse's choice as he's desperate to go to Hobbiton! Haha.
