Jesse and I have been married for two years now, however, I still love all things weddings. The dresses, the themes, the hairstyles, the makeup, the flowers and especially the photos.
Luckily, I have a wonderful friend who not only shot our wedding, but manages to capture cherished memories for other brides; Sydney Wedding Photographer Lucie Zeka!
Lucie and her husband Alban have become good friends of Jesse and I and when Lucie asked me if I'd be interested in working with her on a bridal photoshoot, I'll admit I was a little hesitant, but I know how incredible Lucie's work is so I happily agreed!
I've been sharing photos here and there on our Instagram and Facebook pages, however, I thought I'd share all of the photos with you in one post so that you can have a look for yourself!
Here's the photos from our Bridal Inspiration Shoot >>

As well as Lucie, I have a number of incredibly talented friends in my life. When Lucie first spoke to me about this shoot, I immediately told her about Miriana of MBK Makeup, a client of mine who very quickly became a friend.
I knew Miriana's work was incredible as I had worked with her on her website and social media pages and had seen all of the photos of her work. I headed over to Miriana's home studio on the day of the shoot and she got straight to work on the makeup. The look we were going for was soft and natural - but with a bold lip, as is one of the current bridal trends.

I'm a girl who doesn't wear lipstick and wears as little makeup as possible, however, I trusted Miriana's judgement and when I looked at the finish look I was actually blown away. Here I was thinking I was going to hate the bold lip and there I was rethinking my life decisions and wondering when I'd have time to go out and buy myself a lipstick collection.
My sister Katrina was kind enough to do my hair for the shoot and we had been given a dress from the team at Bizzaro Bridal for the shoot so after a quick change we were ready to head off!

The shoot was at Sydney's Centennial Park and Lucie, Alban and I met the lovely Natascha from Petite Events Hire who would be styling the shoot.
Natascha hires out party props and styles all sorts of events. With everything from Frozen themed birthday party props to gorgeous vintage weddings, Natascha knows how to work her magic to create a space that really is one to remember.

Natascha's beautiful lace teepee featured in the first of our shots, however, what you don't see is the ridiculous thunderstorm we were standing in the middle of.
My hair was done, my makeup was done, we had all of these gorgeous props and the incredible dress and I told Lucie to do what she does best; shoot. Don't worry about the rain, don't worry about the lightening (though my internal dialogue was totally different to what I was saying out loud) - let's get those shots.

With raindrops falling down my shoulders, we kept shooting and I remembered what everyone always says; rain on your wedding day is good luck.
But what about rain on a wedding dress? Or in a wedding dress?

As we kept shooting, I realised we were standing in the exact same spot we'd taken our Engagement Photos and Weddings Photos with Lucie and Alban. Whilst this dress was totally different to my own wedding dress - and the look was also entirely different, there were some parts of it that could have been the same.
You see, three-ish years ago when we were planning our wedding, I brought up the idea of wearing a flower crown. At the time, flower crowns weren't popular (unlike now!) and every person I spoke to about the idea looked at me like I head three heads. Florists could give me flowers for a hairstylist to braid them into my hair or we could attach them to a ribbon - but why on earth would you want a flower crown on your wedding? That's a flower girl thing!

Today, the floral crown trend is definitely looking like it's here to stay - and all for good reason! Not only is it a feminine, romantic look - you can really match them to any theme. It's a dramatic yet ethereal look that I absolutely love - especially with soft natural locks.

A huge thank you to all the lovely ladies who worked to put this shoot together.

But tell me, as a child - did you dream about your wedding day? Or if you're not yet married do you dream about it now?
What style did/do you see yourself going for?
I always saw myself in a big princess style gown as a child, however, I went for the polar opposite! I fell in love with my dress after seeing a photo on pinterest and my mind was made up, however, Jesse was totally expecting a big sparkly princess dress :P
Also, I'd love to get your opinion & feedback. Next year we're contemplating different bridal shoots covering the latest bridal trends with tips for makeup, hair and choosing the right dress - as well as different fashion shoots like we've done this year.
