Recent Things: Needles WHERE?, Sappy Stories and New Food Finds

Recent Things: Needles WHERE? Sappy Stories and New Food Finds\

Hello lovelies! It's Friday again and this girl is finally getting over the flu after a week of sniffling and snuffling! Whilst my weekend was totally lazy, the past week has been pretty productive so I've got lots to share with you!

So let me share what we've been up to recently! >>

Puppy Snuggles with Chanel

Recent Puppy Love: Trixie has been a very naughty puppy this week but luckily Chanel has been her normal good self (except for her love of barking - but that's what dogs do!). Both puppies have been extra snuggly lately as it's been so cold but they were my buddies all weekend long whilst I was sick with the flu.

When you combine chronic fatigue with a horrible flu you get an almost narcoleptic Kristy and poor Nelly very quickly found that out when I fell asleep on her multiple times :P Luckily she's so snuggly and relaxed she didn't care one bit!

You Are My Sunshine Art Print

You Knew Art PrintRecent ObsessionMinted. So much pretty. Not only do they have incredible wedding invitations that make me want to get married all over again (I loved our invitations but this and this make me want to throw a party just for the invites) and if that wasn't bad enough, I found out that they have custom fabrics and gorgeous homewares too and now I want ALLLLLLL THE THINGS.
But when doesn't have ALL THE WALLS to place ALL THE THINGS she has to make decisions - so Jesse and I are currently choosing between two art prints (the
You Are My Sunshine Print & the Because You Knew Print) for our bedroom. I'm leaning towards the You Are My Sunshine Print because it always reminds me of Jesse.

You see, in our bedroom we have a built in wardrobe with mirror doors and the first time Jesse came to Sydney, just before he left he took to my mirrors with whiteboard markers, leaving messages for me to see when I got home and one of those messages was the lyrics to You Are My Sunshine. Cheesy? Yes but also super cute - and it shows exactly why I fell in love with him!

Funny Auto Immune Disease Meme

Recent Laughs: A reader, Angie, sent me this meme on Tuesday that made Jesse and I laugh because it's so true! Of course the only thing tough enough to hurt me is myself! ;P

Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake

Recent Eats: We've been eating some deeeeeeelicious meals this week and I really need to get around to sharing the recipe for so many of them! Here's what's been on our dinner table this week;

Cheesy Baked Chicken BreastsSaturday; Healthy Pumpkin, Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup Recipe with bread and salad

Sunday; I don't really know what to call the chicken we had on Sunday night as it was kind of a throw together recipe months ago that we keep on making. They're chicken breasts baked with greek yogurt, cheesy and a tinsy tiny bit of mayonnaise but they have the most INCREDIBLE flavour ever! Served up with veggies and roasted potatoes

Monday; Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake (aka: a creamy, cheesy pasta bake with ham and chicken :P) and salad

Tuesday; Taco Tuesday! This week we had quesadillas instead of tacos though (using the same filling - just corn tortillas instead of taco shells or burritos like normal) and they were so good!

Wednesday;
 Our Healthy Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup Recipe with salad!
Thursday; Korean Style Beef Stir Fry with brown rice, lentils and veggies

Tonight; Friday nights are quick dinner nights during school term as we've got to have dinner made and eaten by 5:30pm (I know) so we can rush off to Ignite. It's got to be something filling and delicious so we don't want to eat the entire house when we get home at around 9pm :P I'm thinking tonight we might have my Healthy Cheesy Tuna Pasta Bake as it's warm and delicious!

Healthy Creamy Porridge Oats Recipe

Recent Obsession: Can't stop, won't stop eating these Healthy Custard Oats. Yum yum yum <3

Where to buy gluten free lentils in Australia

Recent Food Find: GLUTEN FREE LENTILS! This may not sound like a big deal to you if you're not a gluten free eater, but it's impossible to find gluten free lentils (that is, without a cross contamination warning) or at least it was until I found these babies at Coles yesterday! They're from Basfoods Australia who actually have two stores in Melbourne and sell products in some Coles and Woolworths stores around the country. Whilst their packaging is a little vague (and I contacted them to make sure they were indeed gluten free) they have assured me they'll soon be improving their packaging to ensure the gluten free products are clearly labeled.

Be sure to give their Facebook page a like to keep up with the latest products they have available - and, the more support a company gets, the more products they're able to produce so there could be a whole new world of gluten free foods waiting to get out there! (And no, this isn't a sponsored feature etc, I really do just get excited over new food finds #noshame)

Acupuncture needles in my face

Recent Health Update: Side Note: Jesse decided that I don't get the whole "selfie thing" as I only take photos of myself when I'm doing something totally silly - but who really wants a million and one pose-y photos of themselves when you can laugh at yourself instead! :P

This week I had acupuncture as always, however, I also had a chiro appointment where I found that my constant pain in my back and hips is definitely not all in my head as girl has some craaaaaaazy imbalances and inflamation happening. Next week I'm trying out a scenar treatment to work out some of my ridiculously tight muscles and to help improve my circulation and then I'm back to the chiro a few days after that.

I'm now having acupuncture once a fortnight instead of once a week as my circulation has improved! Wheeeeeeeee

Now all I need is a super good massage. Seriously! If you can recommend a good massage therapist in Sydney, please do! My crazy body has seriously tight muscles that no foam roller can fix :P

Also, I got my iron studies back and buuuuuuuhhhhhhh bow - it seems my iron absorption still sucks (thanks to coeliac disease) as my iron levels have dropped by half. Now I just have to find out when I need an iron infusion :(

But tell me, how has your week been?
What's your latest food find?
And have you ever had acupuncture/alternative treatments?
I'm the alternative treatment queen as western medicine always fails my crazy body :P
