Hello my lovely ones! What a week it has been! Jesse has been away all week for work and I was certain the week would crawl on by at a snail's pace but instead it disappeared before my eyes as I was so busy with work!
Nevertheless, let me show you what we've been up to this week - and I finally have some of our anniversary photos to share with you!!!
Recent Foodie Obsession: Soup! Now that the weather is getting colder I am all about soup. Soup for lunch, soup for dinner, soup in thermoses, soup eaten at my desk, soup eaten with my souper (see what I did there) funky spoon/fork/knife combo I randomly impulse purchased on eBay - soup any where any how any flavour.
This week I've made Pumpkin, Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup, Creamy Potato Soup and I currently have a batch of Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup bubbling away whilst I type away to you as Jesse is coming home from being away all week and that's all he wanted for dinner!
Recent Dinners: But soup isn't the only thing I've been eating this week! Here's what's been on our table lately;
Saturday: Turkey Sang Choi Bao Lettuce Cups (with zucchini, mushrooms and rice noodles added into the mix!)
Sunday: Our Healthy Copycat Hamburger Helper Pasta Recipe
Monday: The random pasta concoction you see above! It was Creamy Dijon Chicken Pasta with mushrooms, zucchini and asparagus added into the mix!
Tuesday: Grilled chicken with avocado, cheese, roasted kipfler potatoes and steamed veggies. This is what happens when Jesse is away and after working away all day all I want for dinner is avocado, cheese and potatoes :P
Wednesday: Spaghetti with Roasted Eggplant, Zucchini and Feta <3
Thursday: Creamy Potato Soup (recipe coming soon - it's lightened up and ridiculously delicious - I'm obsessed!) with some grilled chicken and salad as I needed something quick and easy after being out late night shopping with my Mum and sister!
Tonight: Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup (I promise I'll photograph this soon to share with you all!)
Recent Purchases & Future Purchases: Cute winter jackets from OzSale so I don't end up looking like that baby.... though I probably still will because I'm constantly cold :P OzSale have a tonne of awesome winter sales on at the moment and I managed to get five cute winter coats for $60 delivered - BOOM!
Worst thing? I have all my friends addicted to OzSale too... you have to sign up to see the sales but it's so worth it - I hardly ever buy clothes instore anymore :P
One thing I haven't purchased yet but am planning to is a Phalaenopsis Orchid. I'm not the greatest fan of flower bouquets but I loveeeeeee flowers and orchids especially and I'm thinking an orchid would be the perfect addition to our room andddddd possibly stop Jesse putting junk on top of our cabinet :P
Since Hannah left Dexter orchids (on Dexter the TV show), I'm pretty certain I can convince Jesse to let me buy one - and you can shop for cheap flowers online so he doesn't even have to go out and look for one!
Recent Deliciousness: We've been baking ALL THE APPLE things lately since our Apple Picking Trip and we only have a kilo or so of apples left! :( This Healthy Apple Bread Recipe I posted yesterday was a huge hit and I'm thinking I need to whip up another batch this weekend as it's so so good!
Recent Clothing Faves: For me it's big winter coats teamed with cute scarves. This week's favourite is my Charlibird Silk Scarf and I'm also obsessed with beanies and knitted headbands once again which I keep buying from eBay because they're too cheap to pass up :P (And yes, girlfriend took an awkward selfie whilst hurriedly walking to the train station so her husband could see her OOTD :P)
Jesse's favourite? His Blundstone boots, without a doubt. He wears them to work, he wears them to church, he wears them apple picking, he wears them gardening - I cannot get them off his feet and I'm lucky he has two pairs :P Jesse is really fussy with shoes but he swears that the Blundstones are the most comfortable things he's ever had on his feet.
Recent Food Finds: My Food Bag is a new food delivery service that's just launched and it's pretty cool! They send you a week's worth of fresh ingredients and give you all of the delicious recipes needed to help you create delicious meals throughout the week. We were sent the Family Bag which had enough food for 2 adults and 2-3 younger children (or I'd say 3 adults) for the week and the recipes included Miguel's Tasmanian Salmon Fettuccine Al Pesto and Herb Lemon Steaks with Crispy Kipfler Potatoes and Cucumber Salad.
At the moment they don't have a gluten free option, however, I'm sure you could adapt the recipes for a gluten free eater by substituting GF pasta for regular etc - you'll just have to make sure you have those extra ingredients on hand.
Recent Puppy Love: I got an email from Annie letting me know she'd missed seeing pictures of Chanel lately (as Trixie always hogs the camera attention) so here is our big girl! Albeit looking a little scruffy thanks to the rain and the fact that she's due for a bath tomorrow :P
The pups have been lazier than usual thanks to all the cold and wet weather, however, Miss Trixie has been on a destroying rampage. In the last week, little Miss has destroyed tinfoil, a feather boa, tissue after tissue and I'm finding I have to put our washing basket up on our bed or she manages to climb up and grab out clothes to lay on/play with -.-
Recent Thankfulness: I never thought I'd say this but I am so thankful for our treadmill :P It is so nice not to have to go out in the cold and rain to go for a walk. I miss our beautiful park but that's what midday bushwalks are for :P
Recent Love: Our Wedding Anniversary photoshoot! Back in October, instead of buying presents for one another for our 1st wedding anniversary, we decided to capture memories instead with a photoshoot shot by the ever amazing Lucie Zeka! Lucie is the genius behind our beautiful engagement and wedding photos and she amazed us once again with our anniversary shoot.
I haven't shared all the pictures yet but let me know if you'd like me to share them all or not because I don't know if you guys want to see a million and one photos of our silly faces ;)
But tell me, how has your week been?
What's the last thing you purchased online?
And what's one thing you're thankful for right now?!
Those photos...beautiful! I want to see more!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely girl! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe anniversary photos are darling! I like the one especially with you two sitting in the grass like you're having a small picnic. And pumpkin, carrot, and sweet potato soup sounds souper to me!
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely!
ReplyDeleteKeep an eye out for the recipe for that soup soon - it's SO good!
Those pictures are just wonderful! I'd love to see more of them. I am also excited for those soup recipes and (kind of random but) LOVE the colors in your silk scarf! :)
ReplyDeletePosting a soup recipe today so keep an eye out! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in the scarf too - it even has cute colourful pompoms around the edges ;)
