Six Sentence Sunday: 12th April, 2015

After a four day weekend last weekend, I'm wishing we had another long weekend this week as I so don't want to go back to work tomorrow :P

Jesse and Trixie Watching Cartoons - Doctor Who Beanie and Blanket

We have had a super lazy weekend so far as the weather was pretty woeful yesterday and we even started the day with cartoons... well.... Jesse and Trixie sat on the couch and watched cartoons whilst I walked on the treadmill :P (And yes, Jesse has a Doctor Who beanie and blanket)

Perfect Ham and Cheese Omelette

Our lazy morning was perfected with perfect omelettes - and Jesse still cannot comprehend how I manage to make perfect omelettes every time #skillz

Pretty Yarn Pom Pom Garland

But our weekend wasn't all lazing about - we also headed to The Reject Shop to pick up some supplies for a super cute (and super simple) craft project; A pretty pom pom garland!

We also did some experimenting with the Cuisine Companion and grated an entire block of cheese in just a minute (and one second because I paused it too late, ha!)

Now we're back from church and we've done all the house-y things we needed to do (fold clothes, wash clothes etc) and eaten lunch so it's time to reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelax!

But tell me, how has your weekend been?

  2. Tried this recipe and the cake was a bit flat and not solid enough (it broke apart).

SO after 3 attempts I found this trick: After I remove it from the oven, I sort of separate the cake from the cake tin but not remove it (gently using a knife) and then pop it *immediately* to the freezer.
10-15 minutes later, out the freezer, and the cake is perfect.

  3. Hey Yonatan, what size cake tin have you been baking the cake in? You may need to use a smaller pan.

  4. Hey kristy.
I use a 20cm round baking pan. It's the ceramic type.
I think it may have to do with applesauce, as I think our variety is much more liquid and less solids.

The freezer thing, though, really made it perfect in texture.

  5. Ah, it's definitely too big of a pan. Try using a smaller (say 6"/15cm pan) and see how that goes, however, it sounds like you've found the perfect alternative anyway!
