Easy Ways to Package Homemade Treats for Gifts

How to Package Homemade Treats for Gifting - Easy Homemade Gift Ideas How-To

One of the reason I love creating recipes and home made treats is sharing it with others. I love seeing the smile on someone's face when they try something delicious or are given their favourite treat and I love how food really can make memories.

I love giving friends and family homemade treats as gifts throughout the year; especially at holidays like Christmas or Easter or packaging up a special treat as a little birthday gift. Since that's something I've done quite a bit, I thought I'd share some Super Simple Ideas for Packaging Homemade Treats for Gifts to share with you - as well as some recipe ideas you might like to try out. That way you can be sharing the foodie love with your friends and family ASAP!

Granola was actually the first food gift I ever packaged up for a friend! Whilst I had given food and treats to friends in the past, it was always pretty lackluster when it came to presentation, however, I quickly realised that putting even a tiny bit of effort into packaging and presenting your treats made them even more exciting for your recipient.

Granola is great as it can keep for months; but you need to make sure you package it well so that it stays nice and fresh!

If you're gifting a large amount of granola, you want to put it in an airtight package so that it will last a long time so things like mason jars or cute glass jars are perfect.

I also love packaging granola in brown paper bags. These Coffee Bags from Packqueen are perfect for packaging granola for gifts.

We simply tied ours with some baker's twine and added a cute little label, stamped with our "Made with Love" Southern In-Law stamp (I told you we're always gifting food - we even have a stamp for it!). To keep it even fresher, pop your granola into an airtight bag and then place it into your brown paper bag and seal it up.

Our favourite granola recipe? This super simple Low Fat Honey Vanilla Granola Recipe

How to Package Homemade Chocolates for Gifting - Easy Homemade Chocolate Gift Ideas How-To - Homemade Chocolate Truffles RecipeSure, you can buy chocolate truffles from the store to give to your friends - but why not show off your skills and your love and make some yourself!

Packqueen have lots of affordable food packaging supplies, including Chocolate Boxes and bomboniere boxes.

When it comes to gifting homemade chocolates the most important thing to consider is temperature! Bliss Balls/Raw Bites can be packaged at kept at room temperature but Chocolate Truffles will need to be kept in the fridge. Either keep them in a container in the fridge and only put them into your packaging just before gifting or pop your packaged truffles in the fridge.

Our favourite homemade chocolates? These Healthy Cream Cheese Chocolate Truffles or Healthy Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Truffles. The other recipes that have been a huge hit are our Healthy Salted Caramel Raw Bites, Healthy Nutella Raw Bites, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Raw Bites and Mint Chocolate Raw Bites

Just pop your chocolate treats into a box or jar, tie them with a ribbon or some baker's twine and a cute note and you're good to go!

When it comes to gifting cupcakes there are two things you need to be aware of;
1. They need to be kept upright
2. They need to be kept at the right temperature.

No one wants a smushed cupcake that's gone for a tumble through the container between home and your friend's house and no one wants a cupcake with melted gooey frosting.

Cupcake carriers are great for transporting cupcake but it means you've got to get them out of the carrier later (unless you're gifting it to a friend) so I love to use these Cardboard Cupcake Boxes from Packqueen. They're only available in wholesale lots of 50+, however, get together with some fellow bakerellas and split an order between you!

The other benefit of these cardboard boxes is that they're small enough to fit into the fridge to keep your cupcakes chilled before sharing them with your friends.

Our favourite cupcake recipes? We love using this Fairy Bread Cake Recipe base for perfect Healthier Vanilla Cupcakes. Other faves are our Healthy Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting and our Healthy Chocolate Cake Recipe made into cupcakes. The most recent favourite, however? These Healthy Peanut Butter and Banana Protein Cupcakes!
