Recipe: Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bites

Cookie Dough gets a healthy and vegan makeover with these Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Raw Bites. This recipe is gluten free, vegan, raw, egg free, refined sugar free and absolutely delicious! A must make for any cookie dough lover!

You know, I was probably one of the few kids who didn't eat cookie dough. Cake batter, yes, but cookie dough? Meh. My sister on the other hand is a cookie dough fiend. She's been known to "make cookies" but never actually get them into the oven - instead choosing to keep the raw cookie dough in the fridge to eat ;P

These days, however, I've found a new way to eat and love cookie dough - because I'm kind of obsessed with these cookie dough raw bites. The best part? You don't have to worry about getting sick! There's no eggs, no flour and no nasties - they're just healthy, gluten free, raw, vegan and all sorts of delicious.

Healthy Vegan Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bites Recipe - Sugar free, gluten free, egg free, raw, vegan

We always have at least one batch of raw bites in our freezer for quick on the go snacks. Whether it's grabbing something to eat before we rush off to church or a meeting or an easy snack whilst working away at the computer. (I know you shouldn't eat whilst you're busily doing something... but when you're busy all the time you kind of throw that rule out the window ;P)

These Cookie Dough Raw Bites have become a favourite lately because they taste just like cookie dough - and when you have a husband who would happily spoon his way through a bowl of cookie dough or eat an entire batch of homemade cookies - this is the perfect healthy option!

But let me give you this recipe! >>
Healthy Vegan Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Balls Recipe - Sugar free, gluten free, egg free, raw, vegan

Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bites makes 8-10
raw, vegan, gluten free, refined sugar free, egg free/eggless, no bake

1 cup (140g) roasted peanuts
3 tbsp maple syrup
2 tsp (10g) coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 - 1/3 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate*

Add your peanuts and oats to your food processor and process finely chopped.
Add in your maple syrup, coconut oil and vanilla and process until your mixture is combined. You may need a teaspoon or so of water for the mix to come together, but give it time!
Add in your chocolate chips and pulse for a few seconds (or fold through the chocolate if you would prefer big chunks).
Roll your mixture into balls and place onto a plate or cookie sheet before chilling in the fridge until firm.
These cookie dough bites hold together best when they're cold and they'll stay fresh in the fridge for a couple of weeks or will stay fresh indefinitely in the freezer!

*We like using dark chocolate but we've used a mix of milk and dark, white chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips too! You can also use cacao nibs or leave out the chocolate altogether if you're not a chocolate fan.

But tell me, are you a cookie dough fan?
What typical "kid favourite" food didn't you like as a child?
At the age of 10 I decided I hated fast food which was totally odd for most of my friends (and my family). I liked Subway but that was it! I also hated burgers, pizza and fish fingers and I didn't like cake unless it was unfrosted ;P

And yes, if you ask my Mama she'll tell you I was a painful child to feed ;P

  1. hi, i am a cookie dough fan, especially peanut butter or oatmeal raisin. i also was a painful child to feed. i did not & still do not like onions & garlic. most people give me a hard time about this until i ask them what is the one food they dislike? then they get it. nice to know there are others out there, thanks

  5. can you make these with peanut flour instead of the 1 cup processed roasted peanuts?

  6. Hey Ali, you can - just use 1 tbsp of coconut oil instead of 2 teaspoons to bind it all together! xx
