I feel like the weeks keep getting faster and faster and this week, being a short week, has been totally confusing! Our Friday routine is totally out the window today - we've just got back from Church and now I'm contemplating baking something!
Whilst it has been a short week, so much has happened so I've got lots to share with you!
Recent Foodie Obsessions: Hot Cross Buns.... I am obsessed - especially as Choices Gluten Free Bakery sent me their original and chocolate hot cross buns that are INSANELY good (please, someone, sign Jesse and I up for a lifetime supply?).
At first, we thought the Chocolate Hot Cross Buns weren't going to be a fave - but we were totally wrong because they're so so good.

I've also been having one of our Hot Cross Bun Breakfast Bakes for breakfast each morning because they are so ridiculously good. Warmed up or toasted and topped with butter. Mmm, mm, mmmm.
And... truth be known... if I'm not eating hot cross buns right now, I'm eating gluten free raisin toast. Girl is obsessed with all things cinnamon-y and raisin-y.

Recent Laughs: Jesse was cold the other night and decided to put on his monkey onesie (don't ask ;P) over the top of his clothes, put on his beard beanie and then jussssssssssst incase he didn't look ridiculous enough, he topped off this season's best ensemble with some circa 2007 shutter shades.
Seriously, what did I marry?
Recent Snuggles: As always, with my Chanel Paige. On the couch, on the floor, sitting on a chair - anywhere she can snuggle she'll snuggle. How I managed to choose the sweetest dog on the whole planet, I'll never know. Actually, truth be known - Chanel chose me. I was umming and aahhing because I didn't want my parents to pay so much money unless I was a million and one percent sure and little baby Chanel totally stole my heart. She wouldn't look at anyone else in the shop but me and as soon as the store owner passed her to me she snuggled into my neck and fell fast asleep.
Recent Snack-session: That is, snack obsession. Raw Mint Chocolate Bites - the perfect on the go fuel!
Recent Grossness: Seafood. Eugh. We went shopping for seafood for Good Friday (as we don't eat meat on Good Friday) and I seriously hate the smell of seafood. I'm not a seafood eater and I don't think I ever could be with the smell or the slime. Eughhh.
Oh and in case you're wondering why you eat seafood during Lent/on Good Friday but don't eat meat... well... you're not alone. I did some Googling and the only answer I could come up with was hundreds of years ago meat was considered a decadent treat whilst fish was pretty much free as anyone could cast a line out into the ocean or a river. Therefore as you're sacrificing something, you sacrifice the thing that's special - not your mundane everyday fish (but these days it's kind of the opposite as most people eat meat as their everyday food and save fish for special occasions).
Recent Excitement: For the new designs coming to Christian Designs and Apparel (and the soon to be completed Southern In-Law store!). They come in both blue and pink and there's a variety of different versions - Faith, Hope, Love etc. They look amazing on tshirts and racerbacks for workouts and I am so so excited! I'm also working on a mens version because Jesse likes the idea but not the girly love heart and girly script font ;P Yay for cute Christian T-shirts!
But tell me, what are your Easter Weekend Plans?
And what are your recent;

If I wanted to make this a cake, what size pan do I use?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi Jenny, I'd use an 8-9" square or round cake pan, just bake it for longer and keep an eye on it! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, lovely! xx
