Hi my sweets! Since I'm off to get my iron infusion tomorrow, I thought I'd share our recent things for this week today! Be warned though, loves, there are baby Nelly photos in this post that mayyyyyyy make you want to run out and buy a puppy ASAP. Oh how I miss when she was a baby!
And there's also some deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious eats and I pass on a couple of my addictions to you.
But let's get onto our recent things!
Recent foodie obsessions.. Overnight oats with greek yogurt, peanut butter and banana. Can't stop, won't stop. A reader asked me to post my overnight oats/oatmeal recipes as they're in need of some breakfast inspiration so expect some oaty-licious posts soon! (and some other options for those of you who can't eat oats!)
Fresh fruit is my other foodie obsession at the moment... This is what I'm currently devouring whilst typing this post. Yes I eat lunch whilst sitting at the computer... in fact, I almond always eat whilst doing something else :P Rule breaker!
Recent inspiration.. This quote, found on Pinterest which is so true! Lately I've been feeling a little bit lost as to what I'm supposed to be doing and where I'm supposed to be headed - but I just keep reminding myself that He knows where I'm headed and I just have to trust in him. What God starts, he finishes. Where God guides, he provides.
This verse is also proving to be incredibly helpful: "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" Philippians 1:6
Recent anxieties.. Tomorrow's iron infusion. I'm totally getting nervous now. It's just the IV and the fear of the unknown that's freaking me out. I'm a control freak so when I don't know exactly what's going to happen, I feel totally uneasy. I know that once I'm 10 minutes into the treatment I'll be fine - needles just totally skeeve me out.
Recent purchases.. I have major issues when it comes to dinnerware and homewares - I just can't help myself. Well actually, I can help myself if they're overpriced - but when they're cheap? No way Jose! These two super cute plates were just $5 (even though it says $2.80 each.. I think they had some kind of special offer on them) at Hot Dollar/Dollar King. It's true, I'm a major cheap ass bargainista. If anyone wants to buy big and spend little, come shopping with me!
Recent surprises.. Jesse's half sister, Gina, sent us this beautiful Alexandra Ferguson pillow as a wedding present. The first thing I noticed was the pink - totally Kristy style. Now I just need to find a special spot to put it.
Jesse is such a man and thinks that pillows can only be used for sleeping on, but there's no way I'm letting him ruin it with his big head :P
Recent laugh.. this bowl from Fab. I'm into footed things at the moment (bowls, mugs, etc) but this is taking it way too far :P
I also had a laugh at this best before date - apparently the folks at Purebred don't realise that February only has 28 days - or this loaf of bread is never going to expire!
Recent cute.. This morning Jesse left for work whilst I was out for a walk. He called me to let me know he'd left and that he'd left me a present on the front doorstep. I assumed the local paper had arrived early and that was my "present" but then I found this little origami jumping frog. It's a little bit silly, but totally cute and put a smile on my face :P
Recent AWWWWH! Dad found old photos of Baby Chanel on his computer (and yes I took a photo of the computer screen... I should have just sent myself the photo but I'm lazy) and they are so so so so cute! I forgot just how teeny tiny she was. This is after we'd had her for a month - when we first brought her home, she fit in the palm of my hand with her little head between my fingers.
Recent TV show love.. Naomi recommended we watch Beauty and the Beast in our last recent things post and that night we watched the last episode of Baby Daddy and were stuck for things to watch, so I told Jesse about Naomi's recommendation and we decided to watch one episode and see what we thought.
Um... hello new addiction! It is so good and sucks you right in. Plus, I find Jay Bunyan strangely attractive. Jesse thinks I have the weirdest celebrity "crushes" (really just people I think are cute) because I have an odd thing for Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. I was totally a Pirette (female pirate) in a past life or something.
Recent want.. ALL THE EASTER THINGS!! I swear, Bed Bath 'n Table have ridiculously cute Easter things out at the moment and I want them all - but I know I don't need them all. I mean, the super cute moss Easter Bunnies have me thinking that I "need" them because they're so stinkin' cute - but I really don't need them because they don't really serve a purpose. If I had a never ending budget, however, I'd be the crazy cat moss Easter bunny lady and name them all and put pretty little ribbons around their necks.
Recent outfits.. The difference between some energy and no energy. I'm loving patterns at the moment - particularly stripes. These are two church outfits on rainy dreary days. Sydney's weather has been a little bit woeful lately so I've been busting out the Autumn outfits early. You can tell how tired I am by what I'm wearing - if I look like I've made some effort, I'm feeling pretty okay - but if I've got a sweater or "happy pants" on, I'm probably feeling rubbish.
Outfit on the left: Top from Big W $9.94 (I can't seem to find any more though), Jeans from Valleygirl $14.95, Scarf from Kmart $5, DUO Boots Nevada Boot, Diamond Earrings from Bevilles, Pearl and Diamond Bracelet from Jeweler.
Outfit on the right: Sweater from eBay $8, Singlet from Kmart $4, Moccasins from Rubi Shoes $5, Jeans from Valleygirl $14.95
You don't have to have a big budget to buy clothes, ladies!
But tell me about your recents:
- Celebrity you think is cute?
- The best thing you've eaten this week?
- Food you can't get enough of?
- The last thing you bought?
Oh my gosh, I am beside myself - Chanel is beautiful! I'm at that stage where I'm super clucky with puppies, so you've just fuelled the fire ;) haha.
ReplyDeleteI admit I've been a bit cray with the purchases lately... working a few extra hours will do that to a girl. I've bought my 21st dress and shoes all within a week. Someone stop me!
